Closed due to Storm

The Franklin Area Survival Center is closed today due to the pending storm.  Jamie will still do pick ups of food for the pantry and electrical work will be done, but the center is closed to the public. Please stay home, be safe and we will see you as soon as Sandy is gone!

Welcome Suzanne Davis to Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Franklin Area Survival Center is happy to announce that Suzanne Davis is joining our board. Suzanne, and her husband John, own McCarthy Funeral Homes in Greenfield and Turners Falls. They have lived her for many years and Suzanne is well known in the area for donating her time to good causes. She has served on the board at Shea Theater as well as the United Way. Suzanne has an administrative background and will surely be a wonderful addition to our board!

Once again accepting clothing and linen donations

We were able to get through the backup of clothing and linens and will be accepting donations of clothes and linens along with household items. Please remember you can call and make arrangements for our site supervisor to come out and pick up large items. They must be in sellable condition, which means no rips, tears, or broken parts. Our site supervisor has the right to refuse items if they do not meet our standards. We generally tell people, if you wouldn't buy it then we probably do not want it for our store. Temporarily Not Accepting Clothes/Linens

We are temporarily not able to take clothes or linens at this time. Please call before coming until further notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are at our max limit at this time in the sorting room and only have one person who is sorting. I will announce on here when we reopen taking clothes and linens.

We also recommend that you call ahead when thinking of donating any household items and/or furniture, space is maxed out.

Closings

The Franklin Area Survival Center will close a half hour early at 4:30 Thursday, October 4th, for an employee meeting.  We will reopen on Friday at 10:00 a.m. We will be open on Saturday as well, but will be closed on Monday, October 8th in observance of Columbus Day.
