WANTED: Members for our Board of Directors

The Franklin Area Survival Center's board of directors is looking for a few good members. We meet about 7-8 times a year at most because of the winter weather and a couple of months off during the summer. Most meetings are held on Wednesday evenings. We do have a Christmas party and an annual picnic. We may also attend some other events as well, but these are infrequent. Of course, we welcome you as a volunteer at the center as well, its up to you!

If you are interested in giving some time to a worthy cause, please stop by our thrift store and pick up an application to become a member. We'd love to have you!

Pat Karkut has resigned from the board of directors of the Franklin Area Survival Center. We wish her luck in her endeavors and glad that she will be remaining as a volunteer!

Richard I. Trenholm

This has been a rough month or so for the Franklin Area Survival Center for once again we have lost a member of our family. Richard Trenholm was a dedicated volunteer at the center, working at our food pantry intake desk. He so enjoyed helping people and was great with our clients. Richard dedicated much his life since returning home after WWII to charity organizations, and we had the priviledge of having him as a member of the board of directors for many years. He will be missed by all of us here at the Franklin Area Survival Center.

The Board of Directors send our prayers to Richard's family and friends during this difficult time. We know the Lord has a wonderful man standing by his side. Rest in Peace Richard.

30th Anniversary

Monday was the start of our 30th year serving the needy of Franklin County. We have big plans for an open house which is set for July 9th. Stan Rosenberg, our great state senator, will be attending. Stan has been a supporter of the Franklin Area Survival Center forever. We look forward to his visit. WHAI will be broadcasting live from the center from 11-2 that day. There is going to be hot dogs for sale, free popcorn, raffles and the store will be open, too! So, put July 9th in your appointment book and we will see you there. We hope to have coverage from the local television networks, too. And many other surprises as well.
