On Sunday, God took home an angel, Mary Tirrell.

Mary Jane Bray Tirrell was a past member of the Franklin Area Survival Center's Board of Directors and a long time volunteer at the food pantry and intake desk. Mary spent many days talking with clients and other volunteers. She was well liked and respected. She only stopped volunteering after her health and hearing started to fail. At that time, she felt it was best to move on. However, she still came in now and then to visit and shop in the store. We will miss you Mary, but we know you are now in your eternal home (and with your daughter Ethel once more). God bless you and rest in peace.

Franklin Area Survival Center Closed due to Massive Storm

The Franklin Area Survival Center remained open today even though we were hit by the first half of this massive snowstorm hitting much of the U.S. We stayed open to allow people with emergency circumstances to get food from the food pantry. However, we will be closed on Wednesday, February 2, as the second half and most powerful piece of this storm hits our area. We are hoping to be reopening on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., but it will depend on the weather/road conditions. We will announce on WHAI-FM radio (98.3) and BEAR (95.3) if we are closed on Thursday. With another storm potentially hitting again on Saturday, we advise you to keep a listen to these radio stations and our website for announcements. This blog automatically feeds into our website: www.franklinareasurvivalcenter.org, so announcements should be on there quickly after posted on here. Stay safe and warm and see you after the storm moves on...
